100% nature confirmed!

Chichos,

after 4 days in Quito tomorrow morning I´m leaving for Galapagos Islands, on my own (not an organized tour), have an open ticket, so I don´t know when I return to Ecuador mainland.
Anyway, looking forward to it as Scott (I met him in Medellin and in Quito as well) told me yesterday Galapagos is an incredible diving site.

Yesterday we went for trekking and, as was extremely cold, we came back after 2 hours. We used Teleferico, which is a cable car and we saw entire Quito from the mountain. Was pretty interesting, although I´m a little bit ill after this.

Interesting thing about Quito. There is a problem with a power supply in Quito, there is not electicity for appr. 5 hours every day. I´ve done some investigation why is that and got to know that almost 30% of the total energy produced in Equador come from water plants. As it hasn´t been sufficiently raining this year, there is a shortage of water in lakes and rivers, so the plants are not able to produce enough energy...
About people from Quito in comparison to Bogota: they are a little bit less friendly to the tourists, not so crazy, I have a slight impression that Quito is a little bit more European. Food was better and only a little bit more expensive in Bogota, parties are similar - lot´s of people on the streets, lot´s of people in the clubs. Prices - for partying Quito is much cheaper (comparing the party district in Quito to Zona Rosa in Bogota, obviously Zona Rosa is more "upmarket").
Besides the Ecuadorians are 100% crazy about football!
I´m tired of big cities, need to switch for nature now.
See you soon!
Saludos!
me.
