Uyuni - Solar de Uyuni y las Lagunas

Hola Chickos,

from La Paz I went to Uyuni, the place you cannot miss during your Bolivia experience. Straight from the bus I was caught by some "hunter" and went on tour straight away. We went on the jeep, only me and 5 chickas (Australian, Polish, Belgian and French). Great experience to be only with 5 great and creative women for 3 days and two nights:)

Anyway, Solar de Uyuni appeared to be a very nice place - only salt, salt, salt...It looks as it was the moon or something. 10582 sq km of salt! People still work there but nowadays it´s mostly a tourist place. Amazing :)

Then we went some marvelous lagoons: Laguna Verde, Laguna Colorada just to mention two of them. Lot´s of flemmings and beautiful views! Different colours, depending on the minerals that consist.

Also geysers seen on the sunrise was an awesome experience (especially on the altitude of 4970m above the sea level). We also saw a dessert where Salvador Dali did some of his masterpieces, visited an old cemetery from 12th century - I am not a huge fun of archeological sites, but this was something great! We slept in a salt hostel, which appeared to be a very nice and interesting place. Temperature on the dessert was from 25 during a day to somewhere close 0 during nights.

I can easily recommend this place and this tour to everybody!

Right now I´m staying in Sucre - probably until January the 5th. At least Christmas and NYE here. Small city (200K), beautiful, but...It´s a different story.
